Judge Anthony Trenga has ruled the governments watch list of over 1 million people labeled as ” known or suspected terrorists” violates the constitutional rights of those on the list. Judge Trenga ruled in a summery judgement for 24 Muslim U.S. citizens who challenged the list with the help of CAIR.
The plaintiffs said claimed they were wrongly placed on the list and complained the governments process was broad and error prone.
What future implications this may hold for U.S. remains to be seen. Judge Trenga was appointed in 2008 by President Bush, and it is unknown how many individuals knew they were on the watch list.
