NYC’s chief medical examiner has finished conducting the autopsy of Jeffery Epstein’s remains, “The Medical Examiner’s determination is pending further information at this time,’ Chief Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson declared in a statement late Sunday August 11th. Sampson also stated “At the request of those representing the decedent, and with the awareness of the federal prosecutor, I allowed a private pathologist (Dr. Michael Baden) to observe the autopsy examination. This is routine practice.”

Dr. Baden is well known in the medical and legal communities having served as NYC’s chief medical examiner during the 1970’s and was part of the defense team for the O.J. Simpson trial in 1994. He has also been apart of several recent high profile investigations. Adding to his list, Dr. Baden has now been tapped by the Epstein’s defense representatives.

While it is not uncommon for the M.E. to withhold information, this is development is hot on the heels of a story published by the New York Post, where a source stated that there were no cameras in Epstein’s cell. The guards on watch were also reported to have been working overtime and failed to check on Epstein every 30 min per regulation.

A source revealed to the Daily Mail stated that he believed someone had tried to kill him in the weeks prior to his suicide. Of course this has not been confirmed.

We are still waiting for the FBI to conduct their investigation into the incident. As this story unfolds, it appears as we are left with a complete failure of the criminal justice systems on many levels. Or we are seeing the tying up of a loose end for many powerfil people who are now breathing a huge sigh of relief.
